SUMMARY:Bourbon Tasting 24 Sep
DESCRIPTION:    \nSign Up Here\nWe had such a good time at the January Scotch Whisky Tasting Event held in conjunction with Robert Burns Birthday that we look forward to developing the finer points of Bourbon Whiskey Tasting (spelled with an “ey.”) As the summer wanes\, there is still time to enjoy it and to enjoy learning more about Bourbon. \nWe are pleased to announce that Ms. Amy Deaver\, who led us in past Scotch Tastings\, will serve as emcee for the afternoon. She travels back to Minnesota just for this event because she enjoyed our past Tastings so much. \nThis Tasting is designed for men and women who want to learn about the fine points of the distillation processes and the effects of aging in different barrels. We hope to look at these ideas and more and we plan to have a great time together tasting and comparing tasting notes. The distilled beverages will be paired with special foods prepared by gourmet cook Margaret Flower. These may be infused or flavored with Bourbon or complimentary to the beverage but they will certainly satisfy your palate. Summer is still here and it will be one of the last times that women can wear big\, colorful\, interesting hats. In fact\, that is a requirement (for women) and there will be a special prize for the most captivating hat. \nWe will serve five different bourbons (not rot gut whiskies like in the Blasts of yesteryear\, but some smooth\, aged and specially handled beverages.) We’ll see the subtle yet intriguing nuances which make each what they are. We restrict the group to twenty people because we want to share the comradery of the afternoon and simply because it requires 100 like glasses with which to make comparisons. \nSign up today to reserve a place for you and your better half. We are sure you’ll find something you really like. Cheers.  \n\n \n \n \n— \n\n\n\n\nTerrence F Flower\, PhD\nProfessor Emeritus of Mathematics and Physics\nSt. Catherine University
