SUMMARY:Restart of Quarterly luncheon series
DESCRIPTION:The TCA AOG is pleased to announce the revitalization of the Quarterly Luncheon Lecture Series. Several years ago we had some of our graduates speak about their interesting experiences both in and out of the service. For example\, Curt Brown discussed some of his flights in the Space Shuttles. COVID shelved these programs but\, thanks to the current Board of Directors\, we are starting them up again. On December 7th\, known to most Americans as Pearl Harbor Day\, will be our next program. \nOn December 7th\, Army Captain Jim Johns\, author of Reassessing Pearl Harbor\, will talk about Pearl Harbor and his perspectives on what happened back then.  He personally has studied and led many discussions about Pearl Harbor and WWII. He will answer questions about scapegoats\, heroes and the attack itself at Pearl Harbor. Jim Johns is a member of the Board of Directors of the Harold Deutsch World War II Roundtable and has studied the battles in the Pacific and the Philippines. \n \nWHERE:                Fred Babcock VFW Post 5555\, United States\, Minnesota \n    TIME:                    1130 – 1300 \n Seating is limited to the first 25 who register for the event. There will be no charge for the program but lunch meals are available at reasonable costs. We hope you and your guest will join us as we revisit together the events of the start of WWII. If you are planning to attend please email Rick at RickKnoll@msn.com and let him know you will be attending and if you think you will order lunch. We are trying to get a rough head count.

SUMMARY:Annual Scotch Tasting
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nClick here to sign up \nIt has become a tradition with the TCA AOG to annually celebrate Robert Burns’ birthday with a Scotch tasting. Tasting Scotch whiskies is an art and we try to help grads and guests learn about the subtleties of tasting fine whisky. There are the different distillery regions of Scotland where the whiskies are prepared\, different waters\, different amounts of peat and other differences that create character in single malt scotch whiskies. Our annual revelry will take place. \nWhere: at the home of Terry and Margaret Flower \n12880 Lock Blvd \nHastings\, MN 55033 \nWhen: Saturday\, January 28th\, 2023 \n3:00 PM (1500 for those who haven’t acclimated to civilian life) \nCost: $35 per person- $60 for couple \nOther: Women will be asked to wear a festive hat for the occasion. A prize (the remainder of a bottle of tasted Scotch) will be awarded to the best hat. A drawing for the other bottles will be held among participants. Margaret will demonstrate her expertise at gourmet food pairings to accompany the whiskies. We’ll have Haggis and other Scottish traditional foods with each of the five levels of tastings. We’ll have a jolly good time. Register early as the Tasting Event is limited to eighteen people. \nTerry \nTerrence F Flower\, PhD \n\n\n\n\nProfessor Emeritus of Mathematics and Physics\nSt. Catherine University
