SUMMARY:Star of Bethlehem Quarterly Speaker Series
DESCRIPTION:The AOG Luncheon Lecture  Program is pleased to announce that on December 10th at the VFW Post 5555 in Richfield\, Terry Flower\, Class of 1964\, will tell us about the Star of Bethlehem. Terry started talking about the Star of Bethlehem\, a seasonal presentation that he started roughly fifty years ago and has annually presented it with updates from his research. He combines science\, history\, scripture and wraps these up with knowledge from early Christians. This engaging talk takes us on a journey  of understanding more about Christmas and what we know about it. Come and share a lunch from the VFW gastronomical kitchens at a modest cost. No charge for attending. Come around 1100  and share Christmas greetings with your fellow grads. \n  \nPlease use Sign-up genius to give us a rough headcount\, Thanks! \nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0C4BACAB2CA2FB6-60097397-tcaaog

SUMMARY:2026 Heritage Banquet & Dinner
DESCRIPTION:       \nThe Annual Heritage Banquet & Dinner \nThe Significance of the Heritage Banquet & Dinner \nThe annual Heritage (aka Founders’ Day) Banquet & Dinner stands is an annual celebration and remembrance of the founding of the United States Air Force in 1947 (USAF)\, and the establishment of the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in 1954 by President Dwight Eisenhower. The day serves as a beacon of tradition drawing together alumni\, current cadets\, new appointees and parents.  The evening is where the past\, present and the future converge\, sharing memories\, achievements and aspirations. \nA Gathering of the Minds\nThis event provides a rare opportunity for graduates to reconnect\, share their journeys\, and inspire the next generation. The atmosphere is filled with a sense of pride and nostalgia as stories of old are recounted\, and new ones are born. \nHonoring the Past \nThe dinner is a recognized tradition paying homage to the USAF and USAFA‘s rich histories. It is a moment to reflect on the achievements of those who have come before and to acknowledge the contributions that have helped shape the present. Presentation speakers have included: USAFA Superintendent\, USAFA Commandant\, United States Space Force (USSF) Commander\, Commanding General of Air Material Command\, and other distinguished USAF officers that have critical mission milestones and pivotal moments to define the journey of both the USAF and USAFA. \nWelcoming the Future\nWe begin with the introduction of the new appointees who are welcomed into the fold with warmth and enthusiasm. These individuals represent the future with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. Their presence is a testament to our ongoing commitment to excellence and progress. \nThe Experience \nThe Venue and Ambiance\nThe venue is chosen with great care reflecting the grandeur and importance befitting such a prestigious event. From historic halls to modern hotel events centers\, each setting is meticulously prepared to provide an unforgettable experience. This year\, the Twin Cities Area Association of Graduates (TCA AOG) and the USAFA Minnesota Parents Club will be celebrating the event at the immaculately prepared hanger at Flying Cloud airport\, as we have done in the past 4 years. The transformation of a hangar to an elegant setting is done with finesse: the tables are adorned with fine linens\, there are exquisite center pieces\, and the flickering candlelight adds to the grandeur of the evening. \nThe Culinary Delights\nNo dinner would be complete without a superb dining experience\, and the Heritage Banquet & Dinner does not disappoint. Guests are treated to a culinary menu crafted to delight the senses. \nBuilding Connections \nThe Heritage Banquet & Dinner is more than just a social event; it is a networking opportunity. Graduates\, Cadets and new appointees alike have the chance to connect with leaders from all fields of life that can lead to collaborations and career advancements. \nSharing Knowledge\nConversations during dinner often delve into meaningful discussions with everyone having an opportunity to share their insights\, experiences and ask questions. All this interaction fosters an exchange of knowledge that builds a sense of community\, mutual growth\, and is enriching everyone who attends. \nMentorship\nA beautiful part of the Heritage Banquet & Dinner is the opportunity for mentorship. Experienced alumni often take new appointees under their wing\, offering guidance and support as they navigate their careers. \nThe Impact \nFostering Alumni Engagement\nThe Heritage Banquet & Dinner plays a significant role in fostering alumni engagement. By bringing together graduates of all generations\, it strengthens the bond between the institution and the alumni network. This connection is vital for the continued success and growth of the institution. \nEncouraging Philanthropy\nThe event also encourages philanthropy\, and we do so with the opportunity to participate in the silent auction presented by our unheralded USAFA Minnesota Parents Club and the TCA AOG. Proceeds from the silent auction provide funding for scholarships and other initiatives that support the institution’s mission. \nInspiring Future Generations \nPerhaps the most lasting impact of the evening is the inspiration it provides to future generations. Seeing accomplishments of those who have walked the same halls and shared the same dreams can be a powerful motivator for current cadets and new appointees. It reminds them of what is possible and encourages them to pursue their goals with passion and determination. \nConclusion \nThe annual Heritage Banquet & Dinner is more than just an event; it is a celebration of legacy\, achievement and potential. It bridges the past with the future\, honoring the contributions of alumni while welcoming the new graduates and new appointees into the fold. Through its rich traditions and meaningful connections\, it fosters a sense of community and pride that endures long after the evening has ended. In every toast\, every handshake\, and every shared story\, the spirit of the United States Air Force\, the United States Space Force\, and the United States Air Force Academy live on through the alumni that bind them\, inspiring all who attend to carry its legacy forward. \nSO\, ATTENTION IN THE AREA\, ATTENTION IN AREA\nMark your calendars\, for May 16th\, 2026 at 1700\, we shall all gather in the Guider Hangar at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie\, MN to continue the legacy of The Long Blue Line. Come and enjoy this spectacular event! \nRegister Here: https://cvent.me/XYaYee

SUMMARY:Special Event: Bourbon Tasting\, 24 October 2026
DESCRIPTION:    \nThe TCA- AOG\, Twin Cities – Association of Graduates\, is pleased to announce the Annual Minnesota Area Air Force Academy Bourbon Tasting event. This bourbon tasting is so much more than slugging down some alcohol and feeling its effects. In fact\, bourbon is a complex spirit\, and each bottle has its own intimate character. We absorb the aroma\, the taste and the finish that defines the character of each bottle. There are reasons that some cost tens of dollars while others bring hundreds\, even more\, because there are differences. There is no “best” bourbon. In fact\, they are all “good.” But what makes comparisons possible is the gathering of friends to share the specific qualities of this sensory experience. \nWe host this event with five excellent bourbons to sample and compare. But we also provide\, through the tasting\, a full dinner of outstanding food pairings that will enhance your experience. These foods bring out and enhance They will be prepared by Margaret (wife of Terry\, class of 1964)\, chef extraordinaire\, known for her culinary skills.  Then\, after all is said and done\, we will conduct a drawing of attendees to take home with them a bottle of choice. Because of the limitations in materials\, foods\, etc.\, we must limit the number of tasters to no more than twenty\, which is the magic number to ignite the excitement and revelry the afternoon will bring. \nBy the way\, we have purchased some outstanding spirits for our tasting\, and two of these superb bourbons are rated at more than 120 proof! They have been produced with care in the distilling and aging process that no doubt\, affects the outcome.  This will be an event that you will remember because you had a great time being immersed in and become a part of it. We want to encourage you to bring your spouse because we want to mix different perspectives. Because we are limited in numbers who can partake of this experience\, your chances of taking home a bottle (it may be worth more than that of the event itself) are really\, really  good. SUMMARY:Mancini’s Veterans Day Dinner in St Paul
DESCRIPTION:Grads & Guests of Grads: \nPlease join us at the TCA-AOG 2026 Veterans Day Dinner Celebration! \nVeteran’s Day is rapidly approaching. We understand that USAFA grads often celebrate November 11th in their own way\, but we also want to offer an opportunity for many of us to get together and review common experiences. We arranged\, as in the past\, an evening at Mancini’s Char House\, voted top supper club in Minnesota\, on Thursday\, November 12\, 2026. \n##Fall season is in the air and reminders of when we were cadets come back with football\, hockey and other clashes on the fields of friendly strife. We are approaching our Annual Veterans Day Couples Dinner. This year\, as in quite a few of the recent years past\, we will meet on November 12th at Mancini’s Char House on St. Paul’s West 7th Street beginning at 6:00 PM. That’s 1800 for those of you who may not have assimilated to civilian culture. \nGrads – we’ve looked forward to sharing this dinner with our cohorts from the past\, yeah\, many years. Some folks\, and their spouses too\, we haven’t seen since last year. Maybe we did at a football watch party or the recent USAFA – UST hockey game. But it is good to take in updates and share what’s going on in our lives. We chose not to meet on the 11th\, the formal Veterans Day\, so that families can celebrate that day in their chosen way. But Mancini’s\, staunch supporters of the military\, have made a special opportunity for us to get together. \nMancini’s Char house is one of\, if not the number one\, supper club in Minnesota. Their sirloin is superb\, the atmosphere takes you back to the glory of the supper club era\, and their service is second to none. They have offered a grand meal from beginning to end for a mere $35 per person. This is contingent upon the expectation that we pay cash for this event. We’ll collect your payment at the door. No plastic\, please. We’ve done this in the past and enjoyed our benefits. The wait staff will take your drink orders as desired from their well-stocked bar. \nHappy Hour and revelry starts at 6:00 PM. Wait staff will take our orders and dinner will commence around 6:30. I’m looking forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions\, call Terry Flower\, Class of 1964\, at 651-261-8873 or tfflower@stkate.edu. Go Falcons! \nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0C4BACAB2CA2FB6-65998486-aogveterans \nHope to see you there!!! Curt Brown  ’78\, President\, TCA-AOG \nP.S. Thanks to Pat Mancini\, a great supporter of the military\, we can meet and share dinner that offers a choice of steak\, walleye or chicken\, served by a super wait staff. Please indicate your choice when you register. The cost is $35. A limit beyond your menu choices is that we do not use credit cards. So please bring $35 per person cash. You may purchase drinks from the wait staff\, but also\, please bring cash for that as well. Please register on the Sign Up Genius by 6 November so we can have an honest count. Thank you. \nWhen:Thursday\, November 12\, 2026 \nWhere: Mancini’s Char House \n531 7th St W\, St Paul\, MN 55102 \nCost:$35 per person (CASH ONLY) \nRegister: Sign-Up Genius \nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0C4BACAB2CA2FB6-65998486-aogveterans \nQuestions:Terry Flower\, Class of 1964 \ntfflower@stkate.edu \n651-261-8873 \nThere is Free Parking next to the restaurant and on the street…CASH payment will be due at dinner at the restaurant.

SUMMARY:All Academy Ball\, 26 Dec 2026
DESCRIPTION:Hello Academy graduates! \n\nWhat is it: \nThe All-Service Academy Ball is an event created and hosted by the Minnesota parent clubs of the US Air Force Academy\, the US Coast Guard Academy\, the US Merchant Marine Academy\, the US Military Academy\, and the US Naval Academy to celebrate and honor the Cadets and Midshipmen that attend those academies.  It is an evening of fun in a formal setting meant to capture the flavor and culture of a traditional Mess Night (Navy) and Dining In (Army/Air Force).\n\nIt is an excellent opportunity to don your mess dress or formal attire.  In past years\, they had a DJ and dancing in addition to a casino (for fun only\, no real money) for everyone to enjoy.\n\nPlease check out the website at: mnacademyball.org for some more information and some previous photos.
